Interview by Katya Guseva
You do a lot of typography work. Do you like working with type or images better?

I like both really, both are a challenge, and challenges are interesting. I consider it more difficult dealing with type, because it is a science mixed with creative talent, whereas image is open.

What was your most challenging project?

Umm… the one that’s coming! (laughs) No, seriously I always take a work as a challenge. I could not say ok this was the worst or the most beautiful. But I like it when I can manage the whole project: production + model choice + shooting + creating.

What advice would you give to a beginning artist? And also do you think it’s all about talent or you can learn to be a good artist?

Make stuff! Even if it is not good, maximum of work has to be done. Talent is 1/3, the other 2/3: 1/3 is hard work and 1/3 luck. So you don’t even need to be talented to succeed as you can see! But I consider it necessary to have skills. It’s just a need.
