JUAKALI “DEM CITY” VIDEO PREMIER
The video for Juakali’s “Dem City” (Nate Mars remix) taken from his Come From Yard EP started off as a Kickstarter project about a year ago. Today with the help of 25 backers, 2 design and production teams, and one lion, it is a complete music video starring Juakali himself, battling Los Angeles Babylon machine of a not so distant future.
Directed by Secret History and designed and animated by Buildestroy, Jua says, “this video didn’t have a deadline, and the concept was meticulously thought out. At the end of the day, we werent concerned about an “end buyer.” We weren’t worried about upsetting any special interests, so it allowed us unabashed creativity.”
Very pleased with the result, Juakali is already working on another video for “Tha Chillski” tune from his forthcoming Freak You Back EP (featuring production by Plastician, Tes La Rok, DLX, Stagga & Monky).
