Interview by Pandai’a
What kept you in Scotland?

Hmm. That’s a good question. At the time I was working with other folks, pre- Lucky Me, and not directly related to what I’m doing now. I think it was music, really, making beats and also great friends. Excellent folk! I think that’s what kept me there past the first year. But you know, I love Glasgow. I’ve never been able to put my finger on exactly what it is, but I love going back there and I have great memories.

How did you get into music production in the first place?

I always loved messing about on music programs. When I was younger, my Ma bought me a little keyboard and sampler and stuff over the years on my birthdays, so just kinda built on that… Cubase and Fruity Loops etc… Just trying out all the different things. Didn’t really know what I was trying to do or achieve, but I knew I enjoyed it.

Nice, I think that’s motivation enough.

Yeh, I think so… It’s something that’s easy to lose though, I think. I always remember being in London years ago with my cousin, who is also a producer, at some gig and we bumped into this friend of his, who I think was MC Sollar’s producer at the time… Anyways, I was just in my early teens and he was like, “Allllllways remember why you made music in the first place, always!!!” That’s stuck with me for years.
